Rodney Mann, Chairman
Rodney Mann worked at Grand Metropolitan between 1965 and 1995 where he held positions as managing director of the Norwich Brewery (1982 to 1985), the Ushers Brewery (1985 to 1989) and Inntrepreneur and Tenanted Estates (1991 to 1993). Between 1995 and 1998, he was a non-executive director of Shepard Neame Limited and he was non-executive chairman of Avebury Group plc. Mr Mann joined XKO Group plc as a director in 1999 and became non executive chairman in 2005.
Simon Beart, Chief Executive
Simon Beart qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1984. In 1992, he co-founded the international packaging group Britton Group plc, which was listed on the Official List and was subsequently acquired by a listed US corporation in 1998 for £250 million.
He was appointed deputy chairman and group finance director of XKO Group plc in 1999 and chief executive officer in late 2000. XKO Group plc was a software and maintenance service business. Following the downturn in the software sector in 2000, Simon successfully turned round and rebuilt XKO Group plc, and following the sale of most of its software and maintenance service assets, developed it into a focused utilities services business (subsequently renamed Revenue Assurance Services plc). The enlarged group was sold to Spice plc for £110m in October 2007.
Simon is also a director of The Throgmorton Trust, an investment trust listed on the Official List which specialises in small and mid cap growth companies.Piers Wilson, Group Finance Director
Piers Wilson was recently Finance Director of ED&F Man Coffee, a $2.5 billion business, having previously been Head of Corporate Finance and Risk Management for the ED&F Man Holdings Group.Before joining ED&F Man, Piers was CFO of a NASDAQ quoted technology company and prior to that, Head of Corporate Development at Cable and Wireless Communications plc. Piers qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1992. Following qualification, he specialised in corporate recovery and the turnaround of distressed companies.
Jamie Reynolds, Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining Managed Support Services, Jamie Reynolds was the co-Chief Executive of GSH Group plc. Jamie joined the GSH Group in 1993 and having covered a number of roles within the Group was appointed GSH’s youngest Board member, responsible for sales, in 2002. Thereafter, Jamie relocated to the US in 2005 where he successfully grew the GSH Facilities management business from a start up before returning to the UK in 2008.
Euan McAlpine, Non Executive Director
Euan McAlpine joined Managed Support Services from Cazenove Capital Management Ltd, where for the past eight years he has worked as a fund manager with an emphasis on business development in the north-west of England. He joined Cazenove from Seamless Holdings Ltd, a manufacturer and installer of epoxy resin floor systems and decorative flake wall systems for industrial use, where he was Chairman and managing director for 3 years. Prior to joining Seamless Holdings, Mr McAlpine worked in a variety of roles for the Alfred McAlpine group of companies.
Euan McAlpine is currently a director of Ringcity Ltd and has been a director of Persicle Ltd during the last five years.
